‘I trust Sophie implicitly with campaign work and am always impressed by her speed of response, fair attitude and diligent approach to campaign work. Her author care is exemplary and she really does go above and beyond, I feel lucky to work with her’.
Elizabeth Masters, Publicity Director, Quercus
‘Sophie Ransom is the ultimate professional. … Her enthusiasm, dedication, contacts and imagination never ceases to amaze and inspire. I can’t recommend her highly enough. I love her vision, ambition and drive.’’
Damien Lewis, Sunday Times no 1 bestseller.
Sophie started her career at Waterstones before moving into publishing as a publicist for Pan Macmillan. She then spent 22 years with Midas Public Relations where she rose to Deputy Director of Books having been instrumental in building their PR list of Sunday Times top 10 bestsellers and establishing their crime thriller list. She has worked with numerous publishers, authors and their agents on a wide variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction - often for several years.
In 2021 Sophie Ransom left Midas to set up Ransom PR. She specialises in working closely with publishers, agents and authors on a joint goal and believes that the best results come from building a working relationship on a long term basis.
Focusing on author brand, Sophie works to create tailored strategies to establish Sunday Times top ten bestselling authors, taking them up the charts to maintain a strong chart position for each subsequent book, often up to the number one spot.
At different times in her PR career, Sophie has also worked with publishers on publicity campaigns with New York Times bestsellers based in the US with UK publications including Nicholas Sparks, Robert Dugoni, Brad Taylor and Heather Gudenkauf. She is confident in setting up a full UK publicity campaign for internationally based bestselling authors who are published in the UK.
